Even harder to think that it's a whole decade since everyone was worried about Y2K and their computer systems. I suppose, it just reminds us that we don't have all the time in the world when it comes to living for our Lord and his glory. Time is short, and it also flies. 1) Matt has his hearing back, at last, which means he hears absolutely everything Judith says to him! 2) We still have one Romanian out of work - Stefan: he had a few days work recently, but that was all. 3) Mireya has had another stay in hospistal. She's now home but very weak. We believe that she is saved, but she is plagued with doubts. Please pray for her sister Nuria who lives with her as she seeks to help her and talk to her. Pray too that we would have opportunity to speak to her privately. 4) The mixer situation is now sorted - many thanks to those who responded. 5) Christmas is fast approaching and we have various activities planned. It would be nice to do more but with limited numbers we have to be realistic with what we attempt. On Saturday the 19th the churches in Cuenca have their United Christmas Service at 6pm and as a church we will be taking part (all except Judith who has a Concert with the Gospel Choir in Albacete - Matt will attend the service, leaving early in order to drive 160km to Albacete for 9pm when the concert starts - the things we do to support our wives!). The following day we will have a Carol Service in the Old Folks' Home we visit every fortnight. Then on Sunday the 27th in the evening we will have our own Christmas service, at which Oscar from the church will speak - last year we had over 30 outsiders in and hope for similar numbers this year. 6) Judith and the boys finish in the academy and school respectively on the 22nd until the 7th of January. Matt still has some days to take so we hope to have some relaxing family time - something we don't seem to get very much of at the moment. 7) During our summer visit we asked folk to pray that we would plod, and we have known the effects of those prayers. Please do continue to pray for us in this way. 8) May we take this opportunity to thank you for your prayerful interest during this year of 2009. The Christian life is not always easy, but God is always faithful. We trust that you have a Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Yours In Christ Matt and Judith |
